Verso L’Alto

Video Description:

This film is not meant to be a literal interpretation of Pier Giorgio Frassati’s life, but rather an example of something that he would surely do were he a student today at the Catholic University of America (where all the actors go to school).

Filmmaker Bio:
I have been Catholic all my life and love it. I am a media studies major at the Catholic University of America, and I play football there and run track. I love singing, acting, and reading. I love volunteering with different organizations, and my family has volunteered with the Missionaries of Charity for many years.

Cast and Crew:
Directed and produced by John Funk
Starring Stephen Muskett as himself/Pier Giorgio, Tony Powell as a homeless man, and John Funk as himself.

YOUCAT/Catechism Inspiration:
The passages about respect for the human person (YOUCAT 1929-33) have made a deep impression on me. I think it is incredible that Jesus loved people so much that he wanted to share our pain and joy with us, so that whatever we do to anyone, he feels just as much. It is also incredibly thought-provoking that we should view our neighbor as “another self.”
