This is the real deal. Taking the rosary and your camera to the streets and to PP. Thanks for this film !

Be encouraged in your work outside the clinics! We never will never know how many lives we change, simply by witnessing our prayers, care and support for our mothers. I have to share a little story about my experience with the rosary and abortion.

We have a friend who works in a crisis pregnancy center near our town. Let her be called Jane. one day, shortly after I submitted my film to this contest, I got an email from my friend Jane, who will–on occasion–ask for prayers for certain clients of her’s; mothers who are in crisis pregnancies.

Well, Jane said she was working with one mother who was having a hard time deciding to keep the baby–she was asking for prayers specifically for her and her boyfriend. Our family took note and remembered them in our prayers that night etc. A few day’s passed and we received another email stating that the mother was not convinced, and had made the appointment for an abortion the following day.

We were horrified, and prayed especially hard that night for our sister in Christ. No news the next morning, so we continually thought and prayed for her throughout the day. Then suddenly, I got a call from my mom who was running some errands: “Elizabeth”, she said, “I just feel that you should pray for the mom. Will you gather the family and pray one rosary for her and the baby?” Of course I agreed, and hastily hung up the phone to call the family to prayer.

We all gathered round our prayer alter and lit a candle by the statue of the Blessed Virgin. As we began to pray I started to think of the film I had recently completed on the power of the rosary. I meditated on the promises of Our Lady and prayed like I never had before. I pleaded with Our Lady to be true to her word, to her promises; and to grant our fervent petition.
The minutes ticked slowly by, and after we had finished praying I sent a quick text to all my friends, imploring them to pray hard for this mom.

That afternoon our family received word from Jane of the pregnant mom. She had gone to her appointment as planned, but for some reason would not consent to an abortion until they give her an ultrasound. Reluctantly the staff agreed, and as the mother gazed at her baby onscreen, the baby seemed to dance for it’s mommy, and the poor mother couldn’t go through with the abortion. She joyfully called Jane to let her know the news.

We were all surprised and elated when we heard the news, but I, even more so when I discovered that the abortion appointment was the same time that my mom had called asking us to pray the Rosary.

Some would call it chance, but others will choose to call it an answer to prayer: a humble prayer to the mother of mother’s, this mother who understands better than we, the dilemma of the young girl in a crisis pregnancy.

Our lady spoke to me through these events and I will not soon forget it. She seemed to ask me to trust her, with the great and the small. And I see now that though I had just completed a film about it, even I had underestimated the amazing power of the Rosary.
