A beautiful emphasis on the centrality of scripture around the world and throughout our Church. Great storytelling and the variety of perspectives and locations was greatly appreciated.

The Word in the World captures the viewer with its charm and sincerity. These are real people in real lives giving witness to the powerful impact the scriptures can have in your life. Obviously created with little (or no) budget, this film achieves its goals at a level many films with higher budget and greater resources never get close to.

The film suffered from very poor audio quality, and at times it was difficult to understand the speakers because of low volumes and noticeable hiss. There was also a point where either the wind or an object struck the microphone. The visuals had similar issues, although not quite as noticeably. The six-minute running time could have been cut in half given the material that was presented.

The animations were fun and inventive, and used thought-provoking quotes very well. I didn’t see a clear Catholic sensibility coming through, however; it used a lot of Evangelical Protestant jargon in talking about scripture and having a relationship with Christ. I think the animation was clearer than the live scenes in that regard.
The people talking about the Bible were very joyful and passionate, and eliminating some of the technical issues would have helped to tell their stories more effectively.

Boring. Irrelevant. Boring. Long. Especially Boring!” Love it! Kylie captures all popular sentiments exactly!
Your response is profound. It is not a book but an encounter. Authentic testimonies with great diversity. One of my favorite videos! Great Job!
I love these stories and testimonies! Nice international flavor. Good music! Loved the animation, too (just perhaps animation could have been a little faster). <3 Kylie made me LAUGH.
Catholics read, live, and preach the Bible. We love and serve and live for Jesus. We announce and build His Kingdom. We love and have children, plenty of them. We have the attitude of Christ: “Let the little children come unto me.”
This is the “New Evangelization,” bible centered, inspiring, lived by those who proclaim it. It is a beautiful use of modern media to communicate the Spirit that evidently is at work in these young and not so young people.
Such a great video! I love the message that God’s word is life-changing and relevant today
Genuine witness from a wonderful variety of people. Thanks for your submission.
By the witness of the many in the film, you show all that God’s word is still relevant and life changing in our world and that we, as Catholics, LOVE the Bible. I also really liked the music playing in the background.
Your message was communicated clearly and so was your passion for the Word of God. I like how you incorporated footage from all over the world and kept it personal. Thanks for submitting!
