Count It Joy My Son
Video Description:
“Count It Joy My Son” is a song I wrote and recorded, as well as videoed and edited. It is a song based out of the verse James 1:2 where is says “Count it joy, my brothers, when you face trials of various kinds.” There are also parallels referring to the story of Job within the song.
The overall song is a story of a man who is facing trials (like I, myself, did before writing it), and then at his breaking point, he prays to God asking Him “why have you made me like this?” Then, like in Job, God replies saying “Who are you to question me?” The chorus then describes the might and the power of God, but at the end of the chorus, God encourages the man by saying “And when the battle is won, it will all be done–So count it joy my son.”

Great song and story, Reagan. This life does require a lot of trust. What is faith if belief is always easy? Inspiring music videos like yours makes me think that we need to offer a music category. Thank you for submitting and I pray you find a niche for your music and film talents that gives glory to God.
Yes, we can find joy even in the midst of trials and tribulations. He is with us. Good song and good voice.
Great music video and great voice. I would have liked to see a deeper connection to YouCat though.
