1.  December 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation.

2.  December 12th is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Under this title, Mary is called the Protectress of the Unborn.  Why?  There are many interesting details/facts surrounding the story of the image of Mary on the tilma of St. Juan Diego.  List at least one.

3.  Before Christmas, Catholics celebrate the season of Advent.  Explain to your friend the importance of this season and why it is essential that Christians celebrate this season and not begin celebrating Christmas until it arrives.

4. Which patron saint of World Youth Day 2011 celebrates a feast day on Dec. 3 ? List two countries he traveled to and shared the Catholic faith? (Visit to find out!)

5.  On December 25th, we celebrate the birth of our Lord. This day begins the Octave of Christmas.  What does Octave mean and why do we celebrate Christmas as on Octave Feast?

6.  On January 6th (or the second Sunday after Christmas in the United States), the Church celebrates the Feast of the Epiphany.  What does the word Epiphany mean?  What gifts were given to the Infant Christ?  What is the significance of each gift?
